Belgium Internship

Olivia Cunningham will be serving in Brussels, Belgium from June 23 to July 25:

This summer I have the wonderful opportunity to serve on an internship with MTW (Mission to the World) in Brussels, Belgium. While I am in Belgium, I will be caring for and ministering to the children of the new long-term missionaries, while they are being trained by MTW to go out into the mission field. I am so excited that I will have the opportunity to care for our very own Macy Stephens, Noah and Karleigh Stephens daughter, who will be receiving their training as they prepare to serve with the team in Chiang Mai, Thailand. I am so thankful that God has given me this opportunity to use my gifts and love for working with young children to serve those who have been called to be missionaries.

I will also have the opportunity to work alongside the missionary team currently serving in Belgium by coming alongside them as we share the gospel to the local community. I am very excited that God is calling me to go on this mission journey and I hope you will consider being a part of this journey by praying for me.

Please pray for safe travels to and from without any complications. Pray that as I care for the missionary children that I will be an encouragement to them and their parents. Please also pray for my strength and energy for each day as I care for the missionary children. Pray that God will present opportunities to use me to be bold as I plant His seeds to the people in Belgium. Pray that my faith will grow stronger and the path He has set for me will grow clearer as I serve Him.

Manila Internship

Will Owens is excited to head back to Manila, Philippines this summer from May 6 through August 16:

I will be working with Ang Bahay Parola (ABP) which is an organization that rescues street children, shares the gospel, and gives them a place to stay. I will also be working with pastors Topher and Robin around the community and helping them with outreach ministries.

I have been able to build great relationships with kids and love them with all my heart. Pray for me as I help these children with Math, English, Bible study and more. I will also be helping direct a VBS and summe camp where the children go to learn more about God, play lost of cool games, fellowship and enjoy swimming and other outdoor activities.

Please pray that God will use me to show the hopeless hope and to show the many who are thirsty, how to be satisfied in a relationship with Jesus Christ. Pray that I will be able to share th gospel clearly and that I will be unashamed! Pray that I will not be afraid and that through me, God will be glorified and his light will shine in the darkness.

Slovakia and Germany

Esther Lloyd will be working in Slovakia and Germany from June 8 to July 1:

This summer I am thrilled to have the opportunity to go to Slovakia to get some experience with art and ministry. John and Kathy Lesondak, missionaries in Slovakia, have been kind enough to offer to host me. John does ministry using pottery, and Kathy has a sewing studio that she does ministry out of as well. I am so excited to connect with them! I have had the opportunity to do both pottery and sewing in school over the last couple years, and those two mediums are my favorite to work with. While I am there I will be attending church in the Cirkev Bratska (local church the Lesondaks work with), getting together with Indian students from the local Technical University, having prayer with the team, joining in on pottery classes, joining in on sewing outreaches, visiting several other local artist studios, attending Bible studies, leading devotionals, and visiting a Roma village and preschool (among other potential opportunities). I am looking forward to learning more about how art and ministry can intertwine.

Following my time in Slovakia, I will spend a week in Berlin with Brian and Megan Moore, helping with an English camp. The theme for the camp is Mission (IM)Possible. We will be traveling all around Berlin, touring important sites and museums and searching for clues to the daily puzzles that comprise our “mission.” The hope is that questions and assignments will bring up issues of faith as a means of teaching as well as practicing English.

Pray that I would have safe travels, that everything would go smoothly without any complications. Pray that I would be a blessing and encouragement to the Lesondaks and Moores. Pray that the Lord would use this trip to clarify how He would have me use art in the future. Pray that He would give me energy for all the things we will be doing.

Meeting the real needs of people is something to which God has called. We’ve been called to work as a team, under Christ, transforming lives and practically meeting the needs of our neighbours.
