Manila Internship

Will Owens is excited to head back to Manila, Philippines this summer from May 6 through August 16:

I will be working with Ang Bahay Parola (ABP) which is an organization that rescues street children, shares the gospel, and gives them a place to stay. I will also be working with pastors Topher and Robin around the community and helping them with outreach ministries.

I have been able to build great relationships with kids and love them with all my heart. Pray for me as I help these children with Math, English, Bible study and more. I will also be helping direct a VBS and summe camp where the children go to learn more about God, play lost of cool games, fellowship and enjoy swimming and other outdoor activities.

Please pray that God will use me to show the hopeless hope and to show the many who are thirsty, how to be satisfied in a relationship with Jesus Christ. Pray that I will be able to share th gospel clearly and that I will be unashamed! Pray that I will not be afraid and that through me, God will be glorified and his light will shine in the darkness.

Slovakia and Germany

Esther Lloyd will be working in Slovakia and Germany from June 8 to July 1:

This summer I am thrilled to have the opportunity to go to Slovakia to get some experience with art and ministry. John and Kathy Lesondak, missionaries in Slovakia, have been kind enough to offer to host me. John does ministry using pottery, and Kathy has a sewing studio that she does ministry out of as well. I am so excited to connect with them! I have had the opportunity to do both pottery and sewing in school over the last couple years, and those two mediums are my favorite to work with. While I am there I will be attending church in the Cirkev Bratska (local church the Lesondaks work with), getting together with Indian students from the local Technical University, having prayer with the team, joining in on pottery classes, joining in on sewing outreaches, visiting several other local artist studios, attending Bible studies, leading devotionals, and visiting a Roma village and preschool (among other potential opportunities). I am looking forward to learning more about how art and ministry can intertwine.

Following my time in Slovakia, I will spend a week in Berlin with Brian and Megan Moore, helping with an English camp. The theme for the camp is Mission (IM)Possible. We will be traveling all around Berlin, touring important sites and museums and searching for clues to the daily puzzles that comprise our “mission.” The hope is that questions and assignments will bring up issues of faith as a means of teaching as well as practicing English.

Pray that I would have safe travels, that everything would go smoothly without any complications. Pray that I would be a blessing and encouragement to the Lesondaks and Moores. Pray that the Lord would use this trip to clarify how He would have me use art in the future. Pray that He would give me energy for all the things we will be doing.
