Good Christian Men Rejoice

Good Christian men, rejoice, with heart, and soul, and voice;
Give ye heed to what we say: Jesus Christ is born today;
Earth and heav'n before him bow, and he is in the manger now.
Christ is born today! Christ is born today!

Good Christian men, rejoice, with heart, and soul, and voice;
Now ye hear of endless bliss: Jesus Christ was born for this!
He hath opened heaven's door, and man is blessed evermore.
Christ was born for this! Christ was born for this!

Good Christian men, rejoice, with heart, and soul, and voice;
Now ye need not fear the grave: Jesus Christ was born to save!
Calls you one and calls you all to gain his everlasting hall.
Christ was born to save! Christ was born to save!

Call to Worship

Psalm 34:1-3
I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul makes its boast in the Lord; let the humble hear and be glad.
Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together!

The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic* church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

This creed traditionally dates back to the early 2nd century.
The word “catholic” means “universal”, meaning the one true church made
up of all believers in Jesus Christ from every tribe, language, people and nation.

Gloria Patri
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost.  As it was in the  beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end, Amen, Amen

The Gloria Patri’s first line was sung in the church as early as the 2nd century to affirm that God is Triune. The second line was added in the 4th century to emphasize the eternal Deity of Jesus, refuting the Arian heresy that Jesus was not eternally God.

Hymn of Praise
Bless the Lord, O My Soul (Ten Thousand Reasons)

The sun comes up; it’s a new day dawning.
It’s time to sing your song again.
Whatever may pass and whatever lies before me
Let me be singing when the evening comes.

Bless the Lord, O my soul, O my soul. Worship his holy name.
Sing like never before, O my soul, I’ll worship your holy name.

You’re rich in love and You’re slow to anger.
Your name is great and your heart is kind.
For all your goodness, I will keep on singing.
10,000 reasons for my heart to find.

Bless the Lord, O my soul, O my soul. Worship his holy name.
Sing like never before, O my soul, I’ll worship your holy name.
I’ll worship your holy name.

Bless the Lord, O my soul, O my soul. Worship his holy name.
Sing like never before, O my soul, I’ll worship your holy name.
I’ll worship your holy name.

And on that day when my strength is failing
The end draws near and my time has come.
Still my soul will sing your praise unending.
10,000 years and then forever more!

Bless the Lord, O my soul, O my soul. Worship his holy name.
Sing like never before, O my soul.  (I’ll worship your ho-ly name.)

Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Praise him,  all creatures here below.

Joy To The World

Joy to the World , the Lord is come! Let earth receive her King;
Let every heart prepare him room,
And Heaven and nature sing, And Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven, and Heaven, and nature sing.

Joy to the World, the Savior reigns!  Let men their songs employ;
While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains
Repeat the sounding joy, Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat, repeat, the sounding joy.

No more let sins and sorrows grow, Nor thorns infest the ground;
He comes to make his blessings flow
Far as the curse is found, Far as the curse is found,
Far as, far as, the curse is found.

He rules the world with truth and grace, And makes the nations prove
The glories of his righteousness,
And wonders of his love,  And wonders of his love,
And wonders, wonders, of his love.

Another Year is Dawning

Another year is dawning:  Dear Father, let it be,
In working or in waiting, another year with thee;
Another year of progress, another year of praise,
Another year of proving thy presence all the days.

Another year of mercies, of faithfulness and grace;
Another year of gladness in the shining of thy face
Another year of leaning upon thy loving breast;
Another year of trusting, of quiet, happy rest.

Another year of service, of witness for thy love;
Another year of training for holier work above.
Another year is dawning:  Dear Father, let it be,
on earth or else in heaven, another year for thee.

The Benediction and Threefold Amen
